VACANT SITE ACTIVATIONS.

Transforming empty spaces into vibrant community assets

East Wheeling has numerous vacant buildings, empty lots, and underutilized spaces throughout the neighborhood. Finding creative ways to activate these sites until more permanent development occurs can increase community engagement while improving safety, appearance, and neighborhood vitality.

Our initiative focuses on temporary uses that bring life back to these spaces - including community gardens, outdoor markets, art installations, pop-up retail spaces, neighborhood gatherings, performance venues, and similar activities that showcase the potential of these spaces while bringing people together.
